Obit of Holland Duvall Pace, Jr. - 2

Holland Duvall Pace Jr., 62, of Wake Forest, passed away at home surrounded by his family on May 27, 2017. Mr. Pace was born in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Holland Duvall Pace Sr. and Virginia Wade Pace. He was a consultant in the IT field for many years and was currently an IT Project Manager for ABB.

Mr. Pace loved his family and some of his passions were cooking, going to the beach, reading a good book and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling to tropical locations, snorkeling, staying physically active and watching the abundant wildlife around his home.


A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home with the Reverend Lewis Harris officiating. Friends may also visit with the family at the home, 2320 Paddstowe Main Way, Wake Forest, NC 27587.

Mr. Pace is survived by his wife of 29 years, Susan Lee Pace; sons, Holland Duvall Pace, III and wife Sarah-Beth of Kinston, N.C., John Richard Pace and wife Heather of Smyrna. Tenn., Jonathan David Lee and wife Andrea of Albuquerque, N.M. and Alexander Austin Pace of Wake Forest, N.C.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Judy Pace Bowles of Hawaii; sister-in-law, June Pace of Martinsville; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rodney and Sally Lee of Kinston; brother-in-law, Richard Lee of Cary: several, nieces; nephews; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Charles Kenneth Pace.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Transitions LifeCare for the love and care they have shown during Holland's illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Transitions Life Care, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
