FYI...Class Reunion Update from Jim Irby - 21
09/29/06     Mary Hairston Johnson  (1976)      MJoh795905@AOL.com
Dear Class of MHS '76:

First of all my apologies for taking this long to get back to you and to give you an update. I hope everyone is doing well since the last email. I want to thank all of you who responded with email addresses or current information on other classmates.

To date, we have been able to gather up to 60+ current email addresses out of the 282 names that I have for the class of '76. For those of you had Mr. Sellers, that would be about 22% or 1/5 of our class. I had hoped to have current addresses for at least one half of our classmates before setting dates and making commitments for the reunion.

Just recently, I received the 20 year reunion data base with some addresses and a few telephone numbers. I have complied an excel spread sheet of all of the current email addresses with the 10 year old addresses and telephone numbers. I was hoping the previous list would have had more phone numbers. Attached to this email is this composite spread sheet. I have highlighted in yellow all class mates that we still need information on. ( The green highlight indicates those classmates that have passed on)

It is my opinion that we need at least 125 accurate contact emails, street addresses, or telephone numbers to have a successful reunion. My guess is we will get about 50% positive responses to attend, mabey 70% tops. In other words, we need a minimum of 60 classmates (plus guest) attending to make this effort worth while. There is no science to my method, just an intuitive gut feeling.

Therefore, I ask each one of you to download the spread sheet, and review your personal information for accuracy, and to review all of the names that are highlighted. I am asking each one of you to attempt to contact at least two highlighted names and to get a current email or phone number for that person. Please do not stop at two, if you are so inspired. Please email me with your results by October 7. In doing this, I hope to grow our list to 125+ and then move into the next planning stage.

If any one has another idea of how to obtain current information, please contact me ASAP.

I promise to send out an update of our progress no later than October 10, so please be prompt on you responses. I am open to any creative ideas to make this work. The success of this reunion depends on your effort on this task.

Once again, I appreciate every one's effort to get us 60 names, and I look forward to better than doubling it soon.

Jim Irby
