Re: Happy New Year! |
Dear Clay,
Thanks for asking about my son, Andrew. It's rather serious. He has a rare brain disease, and now that another area has become active on the left side of his brain, we have to remove the other half of it so it doesn't transfer over to the right side of his brain. If it does, there's nothing the doctors can do. We're going Wed. to meet with the doctors involved and see his scans. He then has to have speech tests done, and then we'll have more info. Once again, we're praying for him to come out of the surgery alive and miraculously intact. God hasn't done us wrong yet! Thanks for your prayers. How's your sweet mom?

Re: Happy New Year! |
Prayers are on the way up for Wednesday. My mom is doing fine - she's finally gonna retire from teaching after this school year. This was her 41st year teaching - can you believe it? Psalm 23 - "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me" Take care and God bless. Clay ><> |

Re: Happy New Year! |
Dear Clay,
The 23rd Psalm was said at my mother's funeral. It was kinda funny, because she actually was afraid to die. Thanks for the prayers. I'm going to truly need them. When I look at the scans, I have to pretend I'm looking at a stranger's scans. That way, I can objectively listen and speak to the docs.My mother always chose life in every journey she took. I choose by faith to do the same. In fact, I told my husband the other day that I hope that above all, I want my children to know God's love and power and to believe despite what you see and hear from the world.
I bet your mom was an excellent teacher. They better be giving her a heck of a retirement party! The kids sure will miss out on her being gone. There's no one quite like Martha Perdue.
God Bless You!!! |

Standing Firm! |
Dear Clay,
My mom fought a good fight of illness for 20 years! She had epilepsy, heart disease, colon cancer, and brain cancer! Yet, she believed God and survived, and lived each moment of her life appreciating life. In fact, the last few years of her life she would write down prayers to God for other people and end them with two Amens! On her tombstone, we ended the epitath with"Amen and Amen! I'm so thankful to have had a wonderful mom who was so strong in the Lord. Now that's she's gone, I have to pick up the slack! Thanks to all wonderful moms! You sure have one. Keep the prayers going!

Re: Happy New Year! |
Dear Clay,
Yesterday can be described as informative. The scans were upsetting. But we did get in all the questions we had, and they're sending his last biopsy slide to be read by a pathologist in Cleveland Ohio. We went for a baseline speech test. Jan. 29, we go for the more intense speech test where they put the affected side of his brain to sleep to see if he can speak and comprehend. They're recommending brain surgery by the end of Feb. Keep praying. |

Good News! |
Dear Rick,
Thanks for your prayers. Whenever any one of you guys posts a message in regards to Andrew, I tell him about you and what you were like in high school Scary isn't it? There is good news to report thus far. I took Andrew for a baseline speech tests, and it appears language has crossed over to the right side of his brain! We'll know for sure after the WADA test next Wed. This is definitely good news though. Prayers do work! Keep it up! Thanks again for all your support! May God bless you! |
