Hey you guys, I'm asking you keep our fellow classmate, Kathy Tackett, in your prayers. I'm forwarding her e-mail to me.

To my family and friends,
I know that God is the greatest power of all. And He does listen to prayers. I am asking all of you to pray for me and Amber. For those of you who dont know, I am being diagnosed with cancer. It may be my pancreas or ovarian. After the initial shock of something like that, I know the strength that I have found is in God. I ask that you pray for me and Amber. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, I believe He answers prayers, and He will listen. I need your strength to get through this. My precious, precious baby is the most wonderful thing in the world to me, and I vow to see her walk across that stage at 18 to see her get her diploma. She only knows that Mommy doesnt feel good, and I have a tummy problem. I am currently out of work, and I thank God for sick leave. I will keep you all up on the latest, and look forward to your prayers and wishes. God can do ANYTHING!!!!!, Pray for me that He takes this away from me.

Hey guys, newest update on Kathy Tackett's health situation. Keep her in your prayers.

Hello to all my friends again. Thank you for your prayers and support. To give you an update about me, I have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It has spread to my liver. I am probably in stage 2. It is inoperable and it looks like I will be getting a dose of chemo and radiation. Although to date, it has been studied that you cant stop this kind of cancer, with treatment, I am hopeful for the slow down and with Gods hand remission. Looks like the docs say 5 years with treatment as long as my body responds to therapy, but I believe God will give me longer. My sister, who is a doctor, lives in WI, has come to her little sisters rescue. She lives only 2 hours from the Mayo Clinic, and for those of you who dont know, that is the #1 hospital for cancer research in the world. And guess who gets to go!!!!!!!!!!! Me and Amber will be leaving Wednesday 9th, to travel with both my sisters back to WI. I already have an appt with Mayo clinic, and look forward to the chance to give this stuff a fight for my life. I am strong, and in good spirits. I have no fear. God is carrying me. I feel great, to look at me now, you would swear I was lying. I plan to stay that way. My sisters name is Diana Deloatch, she lives here in Martinsville, and will be with me until July 31st. Upon her return, feel free to call her for updates on me, as soon as I get settled, I will be living with my sister Gwen for a while, I will post her # and you can now leave me messages at kathytmay@hotmail.com. Dianes # is 276.666.4854. My plan is to get initial treatment at the Mayo clinic, get stabilized, and then come back home to Martinsville to continue treatment and get on with my life. I will be living with Diane until I can get back on my feet. God bless all of you, and know that each of you I love in a very special way. Pray for not only me, but my precious little baby girl who is my strength to get me through this.
