Hope Everyone Survived Izzy - 27
09/30/03     Laura Segraves McBride  (1982)      gravytrain@earthlink.net
Well Guys, Just checking in to see how everyone in our class survived Hurricane Izabel. We lost power for 8 days! Luckily, our house , cars, dog, and we were not hurt. The guys that live in Tidewater area weren't so lucky. Let me know you're ok.

Re: Hope Everyone Survived Izzy
Hey Laura,

Glad to hear that the important things remainded unscathed. How frustrating to be without power for so long.Makes one wonder how they did it in the old days. When we lived in Destin we went through Hurricane Opal. It was not having running water for several days that did us in. Hope life gets back on track real soon for you. And when asked what it was like, "It was very windy" Take care, Hope

Dear Hope,
Thanks for checking in to let me know you're okay. Things are pretty much back to normal again. I did read on class of 78, one classmates hope for a prayer for her son returning from the war that was stuck in Norfolk during the Hurricane. It makes me greatful that my family was altogether during it and the aftermath. We sure do take things for granted. Take care and god bless.

Re: Hope Everyone Survived Izzy
Checking in from Newport News Virginia. We lost power and phone for 10 days. No major damage to our house. My brother had a huge old pecan tree come down on his shop and some water damage is bizzarre places (he lives in Buckroe, six blocks from the water). My mother, who lives in Poquoson had two feet of water in her house. Everyone is insured and things are getting cleaned up and fixed little by little.
And just think, this wasn't even a hurricane when it hit the Tidewater area. The max winds where more then 10 mph less then a cat 1 storm. It coulda been a lot worse.

My 16 year old started driving last week...now that is something to fear!
Take care
