What happened to . . .? - 27
04/20/04     Amy Shepherd  (1983)      kurebeachqueen@hotmail.com
Does anyone know what happened to Kathy Tackett. I saw her obituary in the newspaper a short while ago and was shocked at her death. We had several art classes together during my 9th, 10th & 11th grade years and became good friends. But as we often do, lost touch after her graduation in 1982. If anyone can share any information I'd appreciate it.

Thanks Tim
I appreciate your taking the time to answer. It's so sad when we hear about the death of a friend and classmate. It's funny how in school we never think about death, but as we age it becomes more apparent. It makes us realize how short life really is. Again, thanks for the help!

Re: What happened to . . .?
Dear Amy,
Kathy recontacted me over a year ago through e-mail. She had pancreatic cancer. She moved in with a sister to be close to the Mayo Clinic to get the best treatment. At the same time, her husband asked for a divorce, and she left behind a 4 year old daughter. I posted prayers for her on our message board some time ago. I don't know if anyone responded. I hadn't heard from her in a long time, so I figured she had died. She hooked me up in 11th grade with the man I've been married to for 21 years. Thanks for letting me know about her death. I'll sure miss her.

Re: What happened to . . .?
Wow. This information has taken me aback! I remember Kathy and her brother. My deepest sympothies goes out to her family and friends. I will keep you all in my prayers. Tony Meadows!! What happened to Tony? I remember Tony. He was a cool guy! My pryayers go out to Tony's family and friends also. Well, I'll turn 40 on Wednesday!! There's only one thing that will stop us from getting old(er). And we all know what that is, so there's no need to complain about what hurts us in the morning and how the strength of our glasses has increased over the years. Unfortunately, we have to play the game with the cards we were delt!! Please, take the time to tell your families and your friends how you feel about them!! If you have people out there in the world, that you haven't talked to in years because of something that you said/did, or something that they said/did... GET OVER IT!! Put that stuff behide you and re-connect with them!! Time is too short to be carrying the extra baggage around!! Please, do it for my birthday!! :) Happy belated birthday to Faye Hairston & James D. Hairston, and any other classmates that have celebrated a birthday thus far in 2004. With that, I hope you all have a good summer and I hope all of your dreams come true!! Peace.

Tony Meadows sadly committed suicide. My aunt who lived across the street from him told me. Its sad. Live life to its fullest.
