10/19/11     Esther Sparks Powell  (1956)      bhpowell36@yahoo.com
My heartfelt sympathy to Miriam Rothwell Livermon and family.

Obituary pasted below.

WILLIAM R. LIVERMON Jr.
LIVERMON, Chaplain (Major) William R. Jr. U.S. Army (Retired). The family wishes to announce the brave and victorious completion of his earthly life on Saturday, October 15, 2011. His wife of 51 years is the former, Miriam Rothwell of Martinsville. Children are Christy Rogers of Richmond, Kathryn Zinn of Franklin Lakes, N.J. and

Randy Livermon of Charlottesville. There are nine precious grand-children. His mother, Thelma Livermon; and brothers, Robert and John Garrett Livermon survive him. Bill sought God's guidance daily as he pastored in United Methodist churches in South Boston, Martinsville, and Danville, ministered on Army installations worldwide, and following retirement, served in

Teamwork Ministries, Martinsville, and Maritime Ministries, Richmond. He greatly enjoyed travel to France and learning French with Mes Amis, Richmond. Bill put his hope in God. He was our hero. "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
