Glen Rhodes Wife, Jeanne's Obit - 3
12/17/23     Esther Sparks Powell  (1956)      bhhpowell36@yahoo.com
My heartfelt sympathy to our fellow '56 classmate, Glen Rhodes in the loss of his wife, Jeanne. I sat with Glen and Jeanne many times at the reunions, especially the "Old Dawgs." She was always so likeable and friendly that I would seek her out. Rest In Peace sweet Jeanne.

Jeanne Rhodes Obituary
Jeanne P. McLemore Rhodes

June 8, 1944 - August 31, 2023

Jeanne Patricia McLemore Rhodes, 79, of Mooresville, died with her husband at her side August 31, 2023, at Mitchell Mack Hospice House.

Born June 8, 1944 in Phoenix, Arizona, she was the daughter of the late William Richard Scott and Margaret Louise Gorsuch.

At an early age, she moved with her family to Europe when her step-father was stationed there by the foreign service. Jeanne grew up in boarding schools in Belgium. This led to a lifelong love of travel and all things European.

After raising three sons in Wise County, Virginia, Jeanne went back to school where she earned her nursing degree. She then moved to North Carolina where she found the two loves of her life: Dusty and home health nursing. Dusty and Jeanne loved to travel, and share time with their innumerable friends, many of whom they met in local skiing and boating clubs. They also enjoyed visiting beach destinations across the United States. Jeanne's big heart helped her become an adopted family member to many across North Carolina as she aided them in her role as a traveling home health nurse.

She enjoyed arts & crafts, knitting, and, as a Master Gardner, loved growing flowers as well as exploring hidden spots in search of wildflowers.

She is survived by her husband of over 25 years, Glen "Dusty" Lee Rhodes; three sons, William and his wife Jami of Lexington, KY, Robert and his wife Margaret of Wimberley, TX, and Colby and his partner Katy of Knoxville, TN; step-son, Robert Rhodes of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren, James, Benjamin and William McLemore, Rhianna Rhodes, Shasti Benz, Sam Friedlander. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David.

Memorial services and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741
