Old Dawgs Shindig was Great Success !! - 3
05/13/02     Esther Sparks Powell  (1956)      rspowell@kimbanet.com
The committee did a great job of organizing the "Old Dawgs" shindig yesterday. Despite the cold and wet weather, which caused it to be moved inside the gym on Cleveland, it turned out to be a real success. Everyone seemed to be having a wonderful time. Most of the classes were represented. I was very proud of ours, '56, as we had a nice showing. It was good to see Ann Minter, Robert Pedigo, Carol Shropshire, Benny Eanes, Jimmy Lusk, Rebecca Mayhew, Mary Ann Stowe, Barbara Jean Smith, Hester "Pudding" Flannagan, Sandra Fulcher, Barry Lovelace, John D. and Susan Field Martin. Include me, Esther Sparks. If I forgot anyone, sorry, this site is open to all, so just join in and correct me. I sure won't mind.

Folks were coming from everywhere. Ralph and Jean Pruitt and Dianne Foley and husband, Steve Frey came in from PA., brother, Charles Foley drove over from Roanoke. Claude Pruitt was in from Maryland. Bobby Wingfield was here from the Chesapeake area. I hope Claude and Bobby got to play some golf today. Sherrill Frith hasn't changed a bit. That scamp was wishing they would be rained out again today. You can thank me, fellers. I prayed for this sunshine. It is just a day late.

You Old Dawgs that didn't make it to this one should know that there are plans already in the making to have another in Oct. of 2003. As well as this one turned out, I am sure word of mouth is going to make the next one an even bigger hit.

Re:
I agree with my old friend, Esther Sparks
Powell. Kathy Foster, Jan Pratt and all
the other "committee members" deserve a real
"pat on the back" for the "bang up" job they
did in putting the first "Old Dawgs" reunion
together. GREAT JOB, FOR SURE! My wife and
I thoroughly enjoyed it and we are looking
forward already to next year. Hope to see
you all there.
