Jim Painter's passing - 5
06/17/14     Irvin Painter  (1958)      rip622002@yahoo.com
My brother, Jimmy('54) passed away Tues. June 3rd In Tullahoma, Tn. He was a good brother & my hero(as well as my 'built in baby sitter') while we were growing up. He couldn't go Brown St. field unless he took me with him.We spent a lot off time at Brown St. field! While scratching & playing in the dirt I watched & learned a lot from watching him, Jr. Hill, J.R. Martin, Wayne Hairfield, Bobby('Punkin') Thornton, and many others. And occassionly I got to play if they were short a player. JImmy will surely be missed.

Re: Jim Painter's passing
Irvin andfamily,
I only check this site occasionally and I'm very sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing.
I remember him being a great baseball player. Another great Mavahi athlete missing from Brown Street Field.
Regards,
04/16/15     Myra and Jim Stegall  (1965)      jimmyra09@comcast.net
Re: Jim Painter's passing
Myra just saw this, Irvin, and we wanted express our feelings over the loss of your brother. We didn't know him, but if he was anything like you, he was a keeper. Those days on Brown Street field were classic Martinsville. The dirt toughened you up to play football at Ben Ramsey Field. God Bless! Jim & Myra Stegall (63' & 65'_
