I was so saddened to see Lucy's obituary on the Norris website this morning. Unless she was out of state visiting one of her children, she always attended our "Old Dawgs" reunions. We will miss you, Lucy.

Obituary for Lucy Tyson Pruitt Lemons
Lucy Tyson Pruitt Lemons of Martinsville, VA was welcomed into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ Saturday, September 22, 2018 at her home, after a short illness. She was born on March 22, 1936 in Pitt County, NC to the late Benjamin Franklin Tyson and Jennie Parker Tyson. In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by the father of their children Johnnie Frank Pruitt, her husband Rodney Lemons, brothers Alfis Jones, Sr., Blaney Frank Tyson and sister, Sallie Ruth Jones Merriman.
She is survived by her devoted children: son, John Gregory Pruitt (Debra) of Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Kelly Pruitt White (Dave) of Columbus, GA and Sherri Forte (Vince) of Tampa, FL; sister, Mollie Tyson Williams, of Mayodan, NC; and brother, Wilbur Tyson of Garnet Valley, PA. Lucy is also survived by her loving companion, Jack Stultz of the home. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends who will cherish her memory.
Lucy was affectionately known to her six grandchildren and four great grandchildren as Mimi: Jessica Kless of Germany (Laura and Lenny), Courtney Pruitt of NM, Maegan Bell (Aubrey and Ava) of GA, Kristin Forte of TX, Lauren Pruitt of NM, and Vincent Forte of FL.
Visitation will be held at Norris Funeral Services in Martinsville, VA from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Martinsville, VA. Father Frank Patterson of Holy Family Catholic Church in Columbus, GA, where Lucy was a member, will be officiating. Final cremains will be interred at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA.
