Effective April 30th, I will be retiring from the federal government with 34 years service (3 years active duty military, 31 years civilian service). Guess I am going to have to get a real job now and not be a government worker burden on taxpayers. It's been 18 years since I completed a resume so wish me luck. Hope to see folks from Classes '39 thru '72 at the Old Dawgs reunion in October. |

Re: RETIREMENT |
How can a ex goverment worker fit into civilian work. In civilian work you use common sense and rational reasoning. Congrads Bud. |

Re: RETIREMENT |
As to my dear brother's response to my retirement, he has received my response in private....hehehe. I have been contacted by a few companies, two of which are insurance companies and one wanting me to relocate to northern VA plus go to Iraq. I politely declined those offers, especially the latter one (too old to be dodging bullets). Contrary to my brother's response, SOME ex-government workers are capable of displaying common sense and reason in commercial markets. |
