| I've heard that you can't go back. This may be true in a way. I know you can't physically go back to the good old days, but I can always visit the past in my mind. I know alot of you had thoughts that maybe I didn't have a mind when we were in school, but I was just saving it for later in life. I have moved back to Martinsville and even with the changes I can go back to the days of old. Every day I see things that brings them back and brings a smile to my face. The beauty of this area is more so to me now than before. This area is going through a rebuilding period again. I wander if some of our old classmates that have moved to other areas and with companies that maybe should look into this area to move their company here for the available workers, low taxes, good water supply, clean air, available housing, available location, etc. Just something to think about. |

Very true, Melvin ..... you are obviously
wise beyond your years! Whoever said "NO
ONE LIKES CHANGES" knew what they were talk-
ing about. Changes that have proven to
benefit MOST ..... but not All .... are in-
cluded in the "NOT LIKE LIST". Personally,
if I had the power to do so ..... there are
numerous changes in Henry County that I
would reverse. But, in reality I know that
I will just have to be thankful that I still
have my memories. At least I am secure in
knowing that what is stored in my memory is
mine to keep forever. You must have seen
something in the Martinsville area that
caused you to return to it. Most people I
know ..... myself included ...... regard
the area they once loved to be a place they
no longer desire to be a part of. Good luck

Melvin .... I was not trying to be a "secret
person" by no means. Either I "goofed" or
the system did not pick up all of my post.
However, I did mean what I said about "being
wise beyond your years". All of your posts
on this site makes much sense. |

AS YOU KNOW I'M GETTING ON UP THERE IN AGE AND DON'T INTEND TO STAY HERE IN THE CHARLOTTE AREA. WE ARE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING MOVING BACK TO THE AREA IN A COUPLE OF YEARS. EVERYONE SHOULD TAKE A LOOK AT THE SITUATION THERE AND RECONSIDER.NOT HAVING TO DEAL WITH CHARLOTTE TRAFFIC, HIGH REAL ESTATE AND HIGH PROPERTY TAXES AIN'T ALL THAT BAD.

| Speedy,I understand what you're saying. Now would be a good time also. Your bussiness would do good here. We do have traffic here. We consider it a traffic jam if 6 cars are waiting for a light. Take care Bud. When you coming up? I'll call you. |
